I brought two pairs of the light merino hiking socks for a 300 km walk on the Camino Portuguese and I had worn holes in both pairs before I was done.
Comfortable to start but not up to heavy use.
The socks are quite comfortable, but they have next to no durability. It's odd. I have owned socks from most of their major competitors and never had an issue like this. Three of the five pairs I bought a couple of weeks ago have holes in them; that's insane. Usage has been normal: work, bike, hike, repeat. I take care of my feet and trim toe nails, etc, so it's a bit crazy. I also have friends with the same issue.
